Oil tankers warn of possible attacks on refineries

by

The FUP (Single Federation of Oil Workers) issued a note warning of possible attacks by extremist protesters on Petrobras refineries, which would represent a new escalation of the coup acts that resulted this Sunday (8) in the depredation of the National Congress, the Planalto Palace and the STF. (Federal Court of Justice).

Possible attacks on refineries had been announced by Bolsonarists in recent days on social networks and would aim to interrupt the supply of fuel in the country. One of the targets would be the Duque de Caxias Refinery, in Rio de Janeiro.

In a social network, the governor of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro (PL), said that he determined that the state security forces monitor possible targets of demonstrations, in particular the Duque de Caxias refinery and the center of the city of Rio de Janeiro.

Faced with threats of attacks, the FUP activated federal security agencies, Petrobras’ intelligence and corporate security service and Senator Jean Paul Prates, appointed by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) to assume the presidency of Petrobras.

General coordinator of the FUP, Deyvid Bacelar classified the depredations of public buildings in Brasília as terrorist acts and defended the punishment of those responsible for the crimes.

The acts of violence take place a week after the inauguration of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) as President of the Republic. Supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) refuse to accept the result of the elections, in which Lula was crowned winner.

The protesters were inflamed by Bolsonaro’s anti-democratic speeches, which frequently attacked the electronic voting system and insinuated that he could take some action against democracy. Bolsonaro left the country days before his inauguration and is in the United States.
