Trade unions that follow the evolution of the Americanas case are planning a demonstration for the coming weeks.
Marcio Ayer, president of the Trade Union of Rio de Janeiro and national director of the central CTB (Central dos Trabalhadores e Trabalhadoras do Brasil), says that he is in contact with unionists from other states to organize the protest.
The idea is to put on an act at the door of the company’s office in Rio de Janeiro, says Ayer.
According to Nilton Neco, president of the Commerce Workers Union of Porto Alegre and coordinator of the commerce sector of Força Sindical, the movement has also asked for a meeting with the company’s direction. “We’ve already contacted you to set up a meeting. We want to discuss whether there is any intention to resign, how many, when, and try to guarantee that this will not happen”, he says.
Valeir Ertle, national secretary for legal affairs at CUT and general secretary of Contracs-CUT (National Confederation of Commerce and Service Workers at CUT), says that they are studying the possibility of going to court against the company and businessmen. According to him, at the beginning of the week, the directors meet to discuss joint actions.
