Understand how the Ame cashback is with the crisis in Americanas

The accounting scandal that led Americanas to judicial recovery worries customers of the Ame digital account. Since January 12, the day after Sergio Rial announced his resignation from the company he presided over for ten days, consumers have been looking for information on social networks about the future of Ame.

The publications intensified this Friday (20), with reports of difficulties in accessing the application.

Americanas, responsible for the digital account, says that all Ame operations are normal and there is no risk for customers.

“Cashback on Ame’s digital accounts will remain available normally, and can be used in different ways, in accordance with the current usage policy”, he explains on his website.

Through Ame, the consumer can, for example, buy in physical stores and online, recharge the cell phone, fill up the car, pay bills and take out loans through the app. If payment is made at Americanas partner establishments, he receives back a portion of the amount spent on the digital account for new purchases.

This Saturday (21), Americanas published on its website “answers to the most recent questions” from the group’s consumers.

The measure is part of the strategy to calm customers. In an interview with SheetAmericanas’ director of operations and consumer relations, Marcio Chaer, stated that the company continues to verify the same level of demand, both from customers and partners.

“The sale remains the same. There were no changes. The supply remains normal, the gondolas continue with the same assortment they already had. The site is also operating normally, with the same price level”, said Chaer.

According to the company, nothing has changed for the consumer. “Americanas continues to operate normally, maintaining its purpose of delivering the best experience. Customers can buy products and services available at several nearby Americanas units and also on the brand’s website and app”, says the group.

In physical stores, consumers expect big sales, but they don’t find them. A visit by the reporter to the unit on Rua Direita, in the center of São Paulo, last Tuesday (17th) found customers scared even by the price of the Bis.

The retailer has a debt of approximately BRL 43 billion with 16,300 creditors, making it the fourth largest request for judicial recovery in the history of Brazil.
