One of the businessmen who will be with Lula on the trip to Argentina, Rubens Ometto, chairman of Cosan’s board of directors, says he will accompany the president because the neighboring country brings together large investments by Raízen, a company of the group, in oil refineries and distribution of fuel. Last week, Ometto already met with Lula at the Planalto Palace, on Tuesday (17).
On the common currency for the Mercosur countries, a theme that should gain strength with Lula’s trip to the summit of Celac (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) this week, Ometto says he is not following it. “I want to see how it goes. I think it’s a difficult equation, but I don’t know anything”, says the businessman.
After the invasions of Brasília on January 8th, which scared the business community aware of the perception of risk in the country, Ometto has used the expression “democratic greetings” when saying goodbye to some interlocutors.
