Panel SA: Positive tests for Covid in pharmacies reach lowest historical level

The percentage of positive Covid-19 cases in tests carried out in pharmacies continues to fall and reaches the lowest volume in the historical series. About 6.5% of the tests confirmed the disease, according to Abrafarma (Brazilian Association of Pharmacy and Drugstore Chains)

Between December 6 and 12, 126,000 tests were carried out, an increase of 32% over the previous week, influenced by the flu outbreak in cities like SĂ£o Paulo, says the entity. Of these, 8,278 accused coronavirus contamination.

Since April of last year, nearly 12.2 million rapid tests have been carried out in the country, including tests for antigens, antibodies and the PCR type, of which 19% were positive.

In the state of SĂ£o Paulo, ICU admissions due to Covid-19 started to grow again after December 10th. Currently, around 400 people are hospitalized a day, compared to 270 in the previous period. At the end of March, the peak of the disease, there were 3,000 a day.
