Frederick Hondos, a member of the well-known Hondos family and son of Argyris Hontos, one of the founders of the cosmetics chain of the same name, passed away at the age of 40.
The businessman, lately, has been battling the incurable disease. His funeral is scheduled for Monday, December 27, in the cemetery of Kifissia.
Frederick Hondos was a member of the board of directors at Nifrestel Hondos Center, one of the family’s interest companies, which manages the stores in Kifissia, Ermou, Maroussi and Heraklion, Crete.
Hondos Centers were founded in 1967, initially operating as a cosmetics warehouse on Omirou Street, where to this day the company’s headquarters remain.
In 2004 the company split and Hondos Palace Department Stores were created (it had the branch in Hippocrates) under George Hondos, which went bankrupt in 2017.
The rest of the family continues to this day to be active in the field of cosmetics, as well as in the sale of clothing and footwear, accessories and other products.
