As the Minister of Development and Investments, Adonis Georgiadis, speaking to Realfm, said regarding the market pass and families with more than 6 children: “it is a technical issue that has become an error. I have suggested this to the government, because as designed the system reaches up to 6 children and if there are more than 6 children you do not get a bigger subsidy. We have to see it.”

He continued: “We have not put in a law that prohibits changing the packaging. It would be illegal if the price you sell the new packaging, in the weighing we do, makes a bigger profit. We have put the ceiling on the profit margin weighted, that is, it is not on the package but on the gram, the liter. So regardless of whatever gimmick the company finds to do in the packaging, for marketing reasons to put it simply, we check weighted, it cannot escape us. So he can’t be fooling us if he does this thing,” he added.

“A product whose price has been increased does not mean that there is necessarily a profit. For example, tuna has very large fluctuations in price because it depends on the availability of the catch worldwide.
