Antaq (National Agency for Waterway Transport) authorized the tariff increase for part of the river crossing services – mainly in the North and Northeast regions.
The readjustment request was made by three companies that are responsible for 20 lines distributed in states such as Amazonas, Maranhão, Piauí, Tocantins, Pará and Goiás.
To justify the approval of the increase, Antaq says that it considered the impact suffered by the companies with the high costs, mainly of diesel oil, and the inflationary pressure.
According to the regulatory agency, the average readjustment in the 20 lines was 17%.
To change the price list, companies must communicate changes to users 30 days in advance.
