French billionaire Bernand Arnault, owner of luxury brands group LVMH, with US$ 217.5 billion (R$ 1 trillion), displaces Elon Musk as the richest person in the world. His conglomerate includes Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chandon and Sephora stores, among others.
The owner of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter was the richest man in the world for most of 2022, but lost the post to Arnault in December.
Then come the Americans Jeff Bezos, creator of Amazon, in third place, and Larry Ellison, in fourth, founder of Oracle.
The list continues with American investor Warren Buffet (in 5th) and Bill Gates (6th), creator of Microsoft.
In 7th, appears the Mexican Carlos Slim, controller of América Móvil, which controls brands like Claro.
Rounding out the top 10 are Larry Page, founder of Google, Indian Mukesh Ambani, who works in oil and gas, and Sergey Brin, also the creator of Google.
The data refer to the fortune recorded on February 1st. As the value of shares changes daily, it is common for the order of the richest to change frequently.
Brazilians on the Forbes list
The best-placed Brazilian on the richest list is Jorge Paulo Lemann, in position 110, with an estimated net worth of US$ 15.8 billion (R$ 78.8 billion).
Lemann is one of the main shareholders of Americanas, which is facing a serious crisis and a judicial recovery process after the revelation that there were billions of reais in debt not recorded on the balance sheets. This Wednesday (1st), the judicial administration team for Americanas’ recovery process announced that the group’s total debt is R$ 47.9 billion.
In position 174, appears Eduardo Saverin, who helped create Facebook, with US$ 10.8 billion (R$ 53.8 billion).
Businesswoman Luiza Trajano, from Magazine Luiza, returned to the Forbes billionaires ranking, after an increase in the company’s shares, driven by the Americanas crisis. She is at position 2,423.
