Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced today the allowance for pensioners who did not see an increase in their earnings due to a personal dispute, at a press conference he will give at noon from Kozani.

According to the newspaper I Kathimerini, the allowance it will be given before Easter and its height will be scaled according to her height pension.

As for the beneficiaries, they are estimated at approx 800,000, of which the vast majority did not receive an increase for 2023.

The potential beneficiaries seem to be those who received small increases – close to 10 euros – either due to the existence of a personal dispute or due to the abolition of the tax solidarity levy.

As for the fiscal space that will “cover” this benefit, it is estimated at around 300 million euros, which leaves open the possibility that additional benefits will be announced in the near future, probably to support vulnerable households, the uninsured elderly, the long-term unemployed or the beneficiaries of the minimum guaranteed income.
