“The figures published by the Bank of Greece firstly confirm the total restart of tourism and secondly the extension of the tourist season” notes in APE – BEE o Minister of Tourism Vassilis Kikiliasunderlining that “this result comes after hard work and with the markets of Russia, China and Ukraine closed”.

According to the Bank of Greece, the months October, November and December bring to the Greek economy 2.071 billion euros, while for 2023, the leadership of the Ministry of Tourism declares itself optimistic for two reasons. “Pre-bookings are already 20% up, while according to the January data of the Civil Aviation Service (CAA), all of the country’s airports recorded an increase in passenger traffic by +3.1% compared to the same month of 2019” emphasizes Mr. Kikilias characteristically, adding that “our strategy for tourism 365 days a year is confirmed in this way”.

Mr. Kikilias points out the added value of the tourist product, repeating that the figures so far from the Bank of Greece support the fact that “the revenues they conclude directly to the average Greek family, to the small and medium-sized Greek business, to workers in professions directly or indirectly related to the tourism industry, to primary production and to our farmers”.
