The average price of gasoline at Brazilian service stations increased by 46% in 2021, according to a survey released by the ANP (National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency) this Monday (3).
According to the agency, in the week between December 26, 2021 and January 1, 2022, a liter of regular gasoline cost, on average, R$ 6,618, which represents a difference of R$ 2,101 in a year. Between December 27, 2020 and January 2, 2021, the consumer paid, on average, R$ 4,517.
Ethanol also presented a considerable increase in the accumulated of last year, going from R$ 3,180 to R$ 5,063 per liter in the same period, on average, an increase of 59%.
The average price of a liter of diesel oil went from R$3.635 to R$5.336, an increase of R$1.70, or 47%.
In the weekly comparison, the average price of gasoline closed practically stable, with a reduction of 0.12%. It was the fourth consecutive period of decline, a movement initiated by the reduction in the international price of hydrous ethanol and by the cut promoted by Petrobras in its refineries observed in December of last year.
On the last 15th, the oil company cut the sale price of gasoline at its refineries by 3.1%, equivalent to R$ 0.10 per liter. It was the first reduction in fuel prices since June 12th.
Ethanol also follows a weekly downward trajectory, with the average price per liter falling 0.31%. Diesel remained stable in the period.
