More than 18,000 Greek companies are doing business in Bulgaria and the total amount of investments from Greece amounts to almost 6 billion leva, Minister of Economy and Industry Nikola Stoyanov announced today during a meeting with representatives of Greek businesses in Bulgaria.

The Greek ambassador Alexios-Marios Lymberopoulos also participated in the discussion.

The meeting took place in the framework of the scheme “breakfast for investors”, which was established at the initiative of the Minister of Economy.

Almost 46% of Greek businesses are located in Blagoevgrad, 39% in Sofia, 7% in Plovdiv (Philippines), 2% in Haskovo and 6% in other areas of Bulgaria.

Minister Nikola Stoyanov he underlined that as Greek companies provide more than 60,000 jobs in Bulgaria, it is important to have a business link and discuss all difficulties.

“Bulgaria and Greece can also work together to attract large foreign investors. To achieve this, the most important prerequisite is not to see each other as a competitor but as a partner,” Stoyanov added.

For 2022, almost 30% growth in trade between the two countries is reported.

Stoyanov congratulated the representatives of Greek businesses in Bulgaria with a record value of 5.9 billion euros.
