The role of women in the climate issue is growing, but they are still underrepresented, and in companies with the highest CO2 emissions, female participation is also lower, according to a report by consultancy Oliver Wyman on the gender gap in climate action, which will be presented in Glasgow on Tuesday (9).
The study shows that less than 25% of all vacancies in companies in the most emitters sectors, such as power generation, mining, agriculture, transport and construction, are occupied by women.
The document says that recognition of the role of women as agents of change is urgent and points to a greater female willingness to invest in ESG.
Also according to the study, 75% of them believe that climate change involves changing habits and lifestyles, compared to 64% of men.
