“The prime minister regurgitated the measures taken by his government, trying to convince the citizens that their low purchasing power is just… a virtual reality,” comments Kostas Tsoukalas in his statement, referring to the prime minister’s statements today in Melissia.

The press representative of PASOK-Change Movement adds that “unfortunately, both for him and for the country, the Greek people experience Mitsotakis precision in their daily lives, which wipes out monthly incomes from the 20th of the month”. “It is experiencing the high cost of housing, mass auctions, the discrediting of the public health system and the strangulation of small and medium-sized businesses,” it says in particular.

Mr. Tsoukalas notes that “the prime minister did not find a single word to say about the exorbitant increases of over 200% in beef, lamb, goat, coffee.” Furthermore, he comments that “he had no trace of self-criticism about the increase of over 100% in health insurance, electricity, bread, cheese, fruit and fish”. “It is claimed”, continues Mr. Tsoukalas, “that Greece is doing better in the economy than several countries, but it deliberately hides that we are in the last positions in all social indicators”.

The representative of PASOK comments, finally, that the prime minister “reminds with every statement he makes of the well-known phrase: ‘if the truth is not convenient for us, so much the worse for the truth'”.
