With the advancement of the ômicron, Hospital Albert Einstein, in São Paulo, more than doubled the number of beds in a week, following the arrival of new patients.
On Tuesday (4), there were 41 vacancies in ICU, semi ICU and apartments for the treatment of Covid. Until this Wednesday (12), it rose to 91, the same number of patients hospitalized with the virus, according to the hospital, which has opened beds according to demand.
Rede D’Or São Luiz has also adjusted the structure. To handle the discharge of cases, 15 beds at Hospital Vila Nova Star and another 25 at Hospital São Luiz Itaim were converted to serve people with Covid.
Unimed says it is strengthening its teams in outpatient and emergency care units. It is also opening spaces for exclusive care of respiratory syndromes and expanding telemedicine services. According to the operator, the system has not yet registered pressure for beds or intensive care.
The Hospital das Clínicas de São Paulo, so far, did not need to open new beds. The institution says it has 235 exclusive vacancies to treat those infected with the virus, distributed between the Central Institute and the Heart Institute, with 115 ICU and 120 infirmary.
