Three people were killed today by Israeli strikes on Lebanon local authorities announced while the Israeli army said it killed two of its members Hezbollahin the east and south of the country.
Since Thursday, 11 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon, despite a ceasefire with Hezbollah that took effect in November 2024.
According to the Lebanese government, a man has died after being hit by a car in Nakura. Two other strikes in the Baalbek region killed two more people, one of whom was Syrian.
Beirut gave no further details about the three victims.
According to the Israeli military, “terrorist Ali Hussein Al Mousai, an arms dealer for the Hezbollah terrorist organization, was killed in the Bekaa region,” in eastern Lebanon. In another strike, in Nakura, “terrorist Abed Mahmoud al-Sagent” was killed who was “participating in Hezbollah’s efforts to rebuild its military forces in the region.”
Despite the ceasefire, the Israeli military has frequently launched strikes in Lebanon claiming to target the pro-Iranian group to prevent it from rebuilding its damaged infrastructure. Israel still holds five positions in southern Lebanon, although the agreement calls for the withdrawal of its army from the country.
Under pressure from the US, the Lebanese army came up with a plan aimed at disarming Hezbollah, starting in the south, which borders northern Israel. The organization, however, refuses to disarm.
