The meeting is expected to decide whether the schedule will be met or whether it will take more time to complete the upgrade of the systems and the interconnection of the cash registers with the POS
It will be decided today whether an extension will be granted or not at the deadlines that have been set (end of June and end of July depending on the business turnover) for the interconnection of the cash registers with the POS and the upgrading of the tax mechanisms.
In a meeting of the Governor of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) Giorgos Pitsilis with the representatives of the POS market and tax mechanisms, as well as software support companies, the technical problems that exist as well as the concerns expressed for the completion of the necessary procedures within the schedule will be raised .
According to information at the meeting it will be decided whether the schedule will be met or whether it will take more time to complete the upgrade of the systems and the interconnection of the cash registers with the POS in order to close the tax evasion windows and limit the “tricks” with non-issuance receipts.
It is worth noting that based on the timetable announced at the end of March 2023 by the Ministry of Finance and the AADE, the upgrade of the 400,000 cash registers required for the interface with the POS should be completed until the end of June 2023 for businesses with an annual turnover of up to 100,000 euros and until the end of July 2023 for businesses with an annual turnover of more than 100,000 euros.
Also, approximately 140,000 tax machines should be retired by October 2023 and replaced by new machines that store all amounts in their tax memory, issue relevant reports and transmit transactions directly, and not via computer, to AADE.
However, the decision (Î’’ 3875/15-06-2023) of the Governor of AADE, which defines the technical specifications for the interface between Tax Electronic Mechanisms and card acceptance terminals (EFT/POS), has been published in the Official Gazette on 15-06 -2023.
