The “inflation calculator” of the leaf allows you to correct values based on four indices, using data from the Central Bank. You can convert values from 1944 onwards.
The reader can, for example, check how much R$1,000 today was equivalent to in the 50s (in cruzeiros) or see how much R$300 from 2010 was worth in 2015.
To do this, just enter the value you want to change, as well as the start and end dates – you can start from an older date to a current one or from a more current one to an older one. The system then informs the corrected values and the percentage variation.
The indices used by the calculator are:
- IPCA (Extended National Consumer Price Index);
- IGP-M (General Price Index – Market);
- INPC (National Consumer Price Index);
- INCC (National Construction Cost Index).
