The imbroglio takes place in the Vila da Serra neighborhood, where the agency points out failures in the approval of the construction of the Hospital de Olhos, on Rua da Landscape, and cites problems such as lack of minimum parking spaces and extrapolation of the construction limit, which could harm the urban mobility.

In October, the Public Ministry issued a recommendation that the mayor, João Marcelo Dieguez Pereira, and the Municipal Secretary of Planning, André Rocha, not approve any new development in certain lots that have generated real estate speculation in the region until the irregularities are corrected. pointed.

Valued in the health sector, the block is already home to important undertakings such as the Biocor Hospital, purchased by Rede D’Or last year, a college and a Mercure hotel.

Sought by the SA Panel, the Nova Lima City Hall says that it accepted the recommendation and suspended the analysis and approval of new projects in the place until the Public Ministry investigates the aforementioned irregularities and releases the land in question.
