The creation of special tax centers in Attica and Thessaloniki was announced by the Governor of A.A.D.E. George Pitsilis. Speaking to SKAI and the show “Kalimera” with Giorgos Autias, Mr. Pitsilis clarified that the special tax centers “will serve centrally, digitized” and that “one concerns collection, one concerns real estate taxation and one concerns other issues”.

“We keep the tax offices now, as service points for citizens who do not have access to digital media and turn them into points of guidance for citizens on how to correctly implement their obligations,” he added.

Referring to tax evasion, Mr. Pitsilis emphasized: “Tax evasion is a matter that concerns all of us. Public revenue is revenue for all of us, the state is not deprived of revenue, we are deprived of infrastructure, services, opportunities for ourselves and our children. This is what we must keep in mind. We are already running an extensive digital cross-check of previous year’s income. 3.8 million declarations from 2021 incomes are under our microscope.”

“The cash registers have been interconnected with AADE for 1 year. From this interface, we see in real time whether they are transmitting or not. The obligation of transmission is independent and we will be very strict about it. We have already imposed fines and will continue,” he added.

Also, the Governor of AADE pointed out that “the project of connecting the cash registers with the POS is in progress. The POS will not be able to take money without clipping a receipt. Regardless of the interface, we will continue to see if what comes our way is correct in other ways as well.”

Mr. Pitsilis said that “we are constantly expanding our digital tools. We continue to fight a very big battle against tax evasion by expanding digital tools, developing techniques, enabling auditors to see big data. In the live inspection, the inspector will be able to see the image of the business, record the violations and get the note of findings at that moment, digitally. We are starting in July as a pilot”.
