The launch of products on the market, which usually follows industry confidence indicators, dropped 15% in December compared to the previous month, according to the index of the Brazilian Automation Association GS1 Brazil.
The year 2021 had been signaling in the first half a trend of resumption in the intention of companies to put new products on the market, after the hit of uncertainties that the launches suffered with the arrival of the pandemic in 2020.
According to the indicator, the results of the third and fourth quarters canceled out the growth recorded at the beginning of 2021, ending the year with a drop of 0.3%.
In terms of sectors, textiles had the best result, with a growth of 3.7%, while the others registered a decline in the quarter.
