Panel SA: Industry representative tells Guedes that he agrees with government management for Auxílio Brasil

by

Marco Polo de Mello Lopes, spokesman for the so-called Industry Coalition, which brings together representatives from more than ten sectors, left a meeting with the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, on Friday (6), saying he agrees with the conduct given by the government to finance the new Bolsa Família.

In Lopes’ opinion, the explanation given to industry representatives about the path chosen to expand public spending and enable the expansion of Brazil’s Aid, with the PEC dos Precatórios, which is being processed in Congress, is “very logical”.

“There is a social urgency that needs to be attended to. And there are, on the other hand, the obligations that a certain power says ‘has to be paid.’ There is no way to do magic, so you have to look for solutions. in a very serious way,” says Lopes.

The speech by Mello Lopes, who is president of Instituto Aço Brasil, the entity that represents the steel sector, clashes with the criticisms of many of his peers at Coalizão Brasil on the matter.

“The expectations in terms of collection, concern with the fiscal, the industry understands that the minister is being well managed. He is the goalkeeper of this process. The minister is the one who holds the process model,” says Lopes.
