Stock prices were under strong pressure in today’s Stock Exchange session, with the market testing the critical technical levels of 1,220 units, which it managed to hold in the end. The total market capitalization decreased by 1.4 billion euros compared to the previous session.

O General Price Index closed at 1,225.25 points, down 1.73%.

Intra-sessionally, it recorded a lower price at 1,219.34 points (-2.21%).

The value of the transactions amounted to 100.45 million euros, while 28,658,597 shares were traded.

The large-cap index fell 1.76%, while the mid-cap index fell 1.03%.

All the high capitalization shares closed with a fall, and the biggest decline was recorded by the shares of Aegean (-5.14%), Piraeus (-4.32%), Viohalco (-4.15%), Elvalhalcor ( -3.22%) and National (-2.95%).

All individual indices also moved downward, and the biggest losses were recorded by the indices of Raw Materials (-3.57%), Trade (-2.72%) and Banks (-2.57%).

The largest volume of transactions was presented by Alpha Bank and Piraeus, trading 7,993,413 and 7,266,497 shares, respectively.

The highest value of transactions was recorded by Piraeus with 20.56 million euros and Alpha Bank with 10.75 million euros.

18 stocks moved up, 85 down and 18 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Nafpaktos Textiles +9.01% and Ekter +5.88%.

The biggest drop was registered by the shares: Tria ‘Alfa(k) -8.76% and Chaidemenos -7.46%.
