The company GEK TERNA S.A. with a financial offer of 3,270,000,000 euros, was declared a Preferred Investor in the tender for the award of a service concession contract for financing, operation, maintenance and exploitation of Attica Road for a period of 25 years. At the same time, as announced by TAIPED, the association of persons VINCI HIGHWAYS SAS- VINCI CONCESSIONS SAS- MYTILINEOS S.A.- MOBILITY PARTNER SAS was declared Runner-Up Preferred Investor with a financial offer of 3,106,000,000 euros. From now on, the process will continue according to what is provided in the tender documents.

Attiki Odos is a modern highway of about 70 km length, which built in the 1990s by the concession method. It is the regional road axis of the wider metropolitan area of ​​Athens and part of the backbone of the road network of the prefecture of Attica. It is a suburban road network and highway, with two or three traffic lanes and one emergency lane (LEA) in each direction. In some sections in the middle of the highway, in a specially designed area, the suburban railway runs, which is not part of the Attica Road concession contract.

Further, the highway of Attica Odos is the connecting link of the PATHE road axis (Patra-Athens-Thessaloniki-Evzonej), since it connects the Athens-Lamia National Highway with the Athens-Corinth National Highway, bypassing the center of Athens. The highway has controlled access and consists of two vertical, intersecting sections, the Elefsina-Stavros-Spaton Freeway, approximately 52 km long, and the Western Peripheral Highway of Ymittos, approximately 13 km long. The Attiki Odos also includes a section of the Western Regional Avenue of Egaleo, approximately 5 km long.
