Panel SA: Price and crisis lead consumers to give up buying a car, says OLX

by

The price of cars and economic uncertainties led some consumers to give up buying a vehicle last year, according to research by the buying and selling website OLX.

The situation was more intense in the Northeast, where 53% of people who looked for cars on the platform gave up on the business. In the Southeast, dropout reached 23%.

Part of the interviewees in the survey say they are waiting for better payment terms or believe that the value of the down payment for financing plans is high.

According to OLX, price, safety and fuel consumption are the three most important factors in the decision to buy a car.

Despite the scenario, two-thirds of respondents intend to purchase a car in the next 12 months. Half are looking for a new model, according to the survey, conducted between October and November with 465 people.
