2,629 application files for inclusion in the “Moving Electric 2” program were given for evaluation by the competent services of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, which is now responsible for promoting electric mobility in our country.

So far, 19,000 applications have been submitted for the “Moving Electric – second cycle” program, 11,175 have been approved and another 2,629 applications will be evaluated by the end of September. An estimated 5,000 more applications will be processed by the end of October.

The Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, responsible for Transport, Christina Alexopoulou, emphasized: “Electrification is clearly the future of mobility.

As a country we must support its smooth development, both by subsidizing electric vehicles and by expanding the network of publicly accessible chargers. Today electrified vehicles have a market share of 10%. Our medium-term goal is to double this percentage, approaching the European average. At the same time, the promotion of micro-mobility in combination with the improvement of public transport services is the only way to improve the lives of citizens in the centers of large cities”.

For his part, the general secretary of Transport, Yiannis Xifaras, added: “The inclusion of more electric vehicles and the strengthening of the charging network are progressing steadily and with increasing trends. Subsidy programs make a significant contribution to this. The next day of transportation is focused on electric cars, taxis, buses and fixed-track vehicles.

Every day we take a step forward with the goal of reducing our environmental footprint, which is more imperative than ever.”
