Regimes are defeated with a political plan and Stefanos Kasselakis cannot defeat Mitsotakis because he has no political plan nor basic political experience, said Ms. Ahtsioglou
“We are a few days before the final ballot and we are now talking about two candidates. I believe that the political proposal of my co-candidate has not been made clear. That is why I asked for a debate, on comradely terms, so that the distinct political plans with which we pursue the common goal of overthrowing the right-wing government can be developed. Unfortunately, the proposal was not accepted by my co-candidate, although there is a big question mark regarding his political plan, because he has not presented it”, said Efi Ahtsioglou to “Kokkino 105.5”.
“From my side I have submitted a comprehensive political plan, with four central issues: state, work, economy and rights. In what specific way should we set the bar on the disputes of the time? What organizational changes should be made in SYRIZA-PS”, he added, underlining that “weight must be given to the political content”. “My co-candidate limited himself to some slogans in the past, which are necessary in politics, but we cannot stop at them. For example, when he says “I’m going to change everything”, what does he mean? Which political positions will change? Will our position on foreign policy change? Will the position of SYRIZA-PS change against the privatization of universities and the repeal of Article 16?” Ms. Ahtsioglou noted and added:
“Me and SYRIZA-PS can win over Mitsotakis, because we have a political plan that can form a majority dynamic in Greek society and show the exit door to the policies of the Right. This is how regimes are defeated. Stefanos Kasselakis cannot defeat Mitsotakis because he has no political plan nor basic political experience.”
Regarding the unity of SYRIZA-PS, he emphasized: “Unity is absolutely necessary for the next day, it is the minimum, the crucial thing is to win more people every day. We are a government party and we seek to convince, to become the majority in society, to exert the greatest possible political and ideological influence. So unity is a necessary common denominator.”
“As far as I am concerned, I have proven that I operate under conditions that ensure unity in the field. The question of unity, however, should be answered in practice mainly from the other side. Because the main person who is next to Mr. Kasselakis, Mr. Polakis, systematically launches insulting attacks against me, the previous candidates and a number of executives of SYRIZA-PS. So, the question of unity weighs on her from that side and my co-candidate, who is supported by Pavlos Polakis as his key man, cannot but say that he condemns this type of attacks”she said and declared “absolutely optimistic” that “the result of the second Sunday can be victorious, the correlation of the first Sunday is absolutely reversible”.
He also called for massive participation in the elections in order to “create a very large current” pointing out: “It is very important to have the maximum possible participation because this is a strengthening of SYRIZA-PS, it is a message that we are united and moving forward strongly, it is a message that the government of Mr. Mitsotakis does not rule with a blank check, but the left, the democratic faction is coming back strongly and claiming the governance again”.
