A new federal government income transfer program, Auxílio Brasil will have an average adjustment of 17.84% in comparison with the benefits that are currently paid by Bolsa Família.
The decree that formalizes the increase was published last Friday (5) by President Jair Bolsonaro (no party).
According to information from the Ministry of Citizenship, the average amount will rise to R$ 217.18 in Brazil Aid. At Bolsa Família, this amount was R$184.30. The readjustments will take effect on the next 17th.
Among the changes brought about by the decree, there is also the increase in the income ranges that characterize families as extreme poverty or poverty. In Bolsa Família, family groups whose income was up to R$89 per person were considered to be in extreme poverty. At Auxílio Brasil, this limit will increase to R$100.
In the case of families in poverty, the income limit, which was up to R$ 178 per person in the family, will increase to up to R$ 200.
The basic benefit, which is paid only to families in extreme poverty, will also go from R$89 to R$100, which represents an increase of 12.36%. The variable installments will rise from R$41 to R$49, an increase of 19.51%.
The Variable Benefit Linked to Adolescents will go from R$48 to R$57: the increase is 18.75%. “In Auxílio Brasil, the basic structure was simplified for Early Childhood Benefit, Family Composition Benefit and Benefit for Overcoming Extreme Poverty”, says the ministry.
The folder informs that the payments of Auxílio Brasil will start to be made on November 17, following the same calendar of Bolsa Família. It is estimated that approximately 14.6 million families receive the benefit throughout Brazil.
“All people already registered will receive the benefit automatically, following the usual schedule of the previous program, Bolsa Família. There is no need to re-register”, says the ministry.
Also according to the folder, these adjustments are definitive and are not related to the minimum value of R$ 400 for each family, which the federal government has been promising and which conditions the approval of the PEC dos Precatório. Planalto has also stated that the approval of the proposal will expand Brazil Aid to more than 17 million families.
wanted by Now, the Ministry of Citizenship stated that, in December, if the PEC is approved, the government will start paying the R$400 monthly fee. “Whoever is already on the November payroll of Auxílio Brasil will receive the new amount retroactively”, guarantees the folder.
