The value of transactions amounted to 114.24 million euros, while 16,021,485 shares were traded
The stock market closed at slightly higher levels in today’s session Stock Exchange, putting the brakes on the decline after the sharp retreat of the previous two sessions, during which the main stock index registered a combined loss of 3.38%. Banking shares were at the center of investment interest.
O General Price Index closed at 1,170.13 points, up 0.14%.
Intra-sessionally it recorded a lower price at 1,157.24 points (-0.96%) and a higher price at 1,174.41 points (+0.51%).
The value of transactions amounted to 114.24 million euros, while 16,021,485 shares were traded.
The large-cap index rose 0.53%, while the mid-cap index fell 0.31%.
Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of Piraeus (+5.12%), Eurobank (+4.04%), Aegean (+2.68%), Ethniki (+2.67 %), Alpha Bank (+2.27%) and PPC (+2.11%).
On the contrary, the biggest fall was recorded by the shares of Mytileneos (-2.50%), Quest (-2.03%), Motor Oil (-1.98%), Viohalco (-1.98%) and Elvalhalcor (-1.98%).
The trading of 73,694,142 common shares of Optima Bank started today on the market of the Athens Stock Exchange. The initial trading price of the Bank’s shares is 7.20 euros per share. The share price closed unchanged, while recording a lower price of 6.88 euros (-4.44%).
Of the individual indices, the Banks (+3.44%) and Financial Services (+0.88%) indices recorded the biggest increase, while the Industrial Products indices (-2.35%) and of Petroleum (-1.61%).
The largest volume of transactions was presented by Alpha Bank and Piraeus, trading 6,394,763 and 3,084,734 shares, respectively.
Mytilineos with 13.53 million euros and Ethniki with 12.67 million euros recorded the highest transaction value.
41 stocks moved up, 63 fell and 15 remained stable.
The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Alumyl +12.96% and Piraeus +5.12%.
The biggest drop was recorded by the shares: Leventeris(k) -9.62% and Evrofarma -8.59%.
