Rapper Kanye West said he is not interested in non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for now. On social media, Ye, as he prefers to be called, wrote that his focus is on “building real products in the real world”, such as “real food, real clothes, real shelter”.
Collins Dictionary named NFT as the word of 2021. Described as “a unique digital certificate, registered on a blockchain, that is used to record ownership of an asset, such as a work of art or a collectible”, the asset is said to be future technology.
Other musicians like Eminem and Justin Bieber have already announced the acquisition of NFTs, and athletes like Tom Brady and Erling Haaland have created digital certificate-related products for their fans.
