The innovation used in the foundation of the Riviera Tower
The foundation is complete of the Riviera Tower with the largest of continuous duration, concreting which has been done in Greece. After its completion, the tower will be the tallest in Greece, with a height of 200 meters and 50 floors.
In particular, as stated in today’s (Wednesday) announcement, LAMDA Development, after completing the installation of 111 piles, 1.5 meters in diameter, at a depth of 50 meters, proceeded to the decisive step to complete the foundation of the Riviera Tower, the first green skyscraper in our country. Riviera Tower’s foundation system follows the design and construction standards of the corresponding tallest buildings in the world, such as Burj Khalifa and Petronas Towers.
As pointed out, for the first time in Greece, specialized engineers, technicians and workers worked in eight-hour shifts, for more than 40 consecutive hours without interruption, completing an innovative concreting method, unique for Greece.
The total concrete required was reached 7,500 cubic meters and eight concrete pumps and more than 120 concrete transport vehicles (barrels) were needed at the same time, making over 1,000 routes from 5 different concrete plants in Attica. The total iron armament amounted to 1,760 tons.
According to the schedule of the construction of Riviera Tower, the concreting of the basements and the ground floor slab, which will be visible to everyone from Poseidonos Avenue, is followed by the end of the year. The completion of the largest green seaside residential tower in the Mediterranean is expected in early 2026.
In its announcement, Lamda Development thanks the Attica Traffic Authority for its decisive contribution in facilitating the implementation of the concreting by ensuring smooth traffic on the road network of the region.
