The lawyer specialized in Social Security and consultant Rômulo Saraiva is the new columnist for leaf. The column debuts this Wednesday (2), with texts published weekly on the site.
Author of the book “Fraude nos Fundos de Pensão” and a master’s degree in social security law from PUC-SP, Saraiva is a university professor and member of the Social Security commission of the OAB de Pernambuco.
The column will provide information on social security rights that are relevant to INSS (National Social Security Institute) retirees and workers in the private sector. The proposal is to analyze news from the social security world and show the practical effects of changes in legislation, administrative rules and jurisprudence.
“A look will be given in relation to what happens most relevant in the courts spread across the country to discuss the problems and legal uncertainty that hover in social security rules. I also intend to analyze the difficulties that workers face to have their rights recognized by the INSS”, says the lawyer.
Changes in social security legislation and obstacles in granting benefits in INSS agencies are factors that make it difficult and often prevent access to benefits and reviews, he assesses.
“When you don’t know your rights, one of the most harmful consequences is the deprivation of a food income. The INSS responds for almost half of all demands in Federal Justice throughout Brazil”, he says.
