What is a myth and what is true when applying for a job opening? How do mental health issues meet with your career? What to expect from work in the future? These and other subjects related to professional life will be themes of the podcast Minha Vaga, Minhas Rules, a production by sheet in partnership with LinkedIn that will be launched this Tuesday (9).
The episodes will be published fortnightly, on Tuesdays, and will feature stories from people at the beginning of their careers or from experienced people looking to re-enter the market. Specialists will discuss the topic and bring tips that can help the listener in a new hire or in the evolution of their professional journey.
Listen below to the presentation of Minha Vaga, Minhas Rules:
The presentation and script are by journalist Bruno B. Soraggi, who has been a reporter for the sheet, in which he has already worked in Guia Folha, São Paulo magazine and Mônica Bergamo column. The journalist will be accompanied by the senior editor of Linkedin NotÃcias, Claudia Gasparini. She has been working since 2018 creating and curating news and analysis on the job market on LinkedIn, which today has 51 million users in Brazil. Sound editing is by Luan Alencar.
The debut episode discusses what is legend and what is true when going through a selection process.
For this, Minha Vaga, Minhas Rules brings stories like that of Eduardo Aoyama, a 20-year-old from São Paulo who felt insecure about participating in selection processes without having previous experiences to present. Or Alessandra Vieira, who received several negatives when she wanted to return to professional life after 20 years as a housewife, taking care of her three children.
“At 40 I’m not just my age, but I have all the experience I bring behind me, all the baggage,” she says. “Because it’s not just college. We can add a lot more, and so can people.”
The career specialist and director of the Productive consultancy, Rafael Souto, speaks in this episode about myths and truths in the search for a job. He gives tips on how to look good in a first selection process or in an attempt to get back on the market.
“I have defended for a long time that the transition, the relocation, the job search, it needs to have a strategy”, says Souto. “You submitting your resume, applying for any vacancy, means you’re out of strategy. And then there are several side effects. One is frustration itself.”
“For most of them, you won’t get any return because there is such a big misalignment between the vacancy and your profile that the company itself prioritizes those that are more aligned.”
The podcast can be listened to on Spotify, Deezer, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and other apps.
