Ready-to-drink cocktails, such as prepared gin and tonic blends, were the fastest-growing spirits category in 2021, according to Discus, an association representing spirits companies in the United States.
The year ended with strong signs of traction in the segment, which is still small and represents less than 5% of the revenue, of US$ 35.8 billion (about R$ 190 billion), of the distillates industry.
According to the survey, completed this week, spirits sales across the US liquor market grew for the 12th year in a row.
For Christine LoCascio, an executive at Discus, the second year of the pandemic still boosted the habit of drinking cocktails for travel, delivery and e-commerce.
