The government is trying to combine fiscal stability and seriousness with social sensitivity, said Finance Minister Kostis Hatzidakis during the specialization of the measures announced this morning by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis from SKAI 100.3.

At the same time, he sent a message to society not to listen to “those who feed hares with stone lips”.

According to what Mr. Hatzidakis said, the package amounts to 352 million euros and concerns 2.3 million beneficiaries.

Along with other measures that have already been announced, households will be supported with 717 million euros in December, Deputy Minister Thanos Petralias said.

The extraordinary allowance of 150 euros it concerns 1.55 million pensioners with a main pension of up to 700 euros without a personal difference or a personal difference lower than 10 euros, while in January a pension increase of close to 3% is coming.

Analytically:

  • 1.5 tranche of child benefit (125 million euros and 800,000 beneficiaries). For every 100 euros a parent receives now, in December they will receive an additional 150. That is, if they receive 100 euros, in December they will receive 250 euros. A family with four children and an income of 10-15,000 euros today gets 168 euros a month. In December they will get an additional 252 euros or a total of 420 euros.
  • 50% of the monthly installment of the minimum guaranteed income (24 million and beneficiaries 210.00). They will also get an 8% increase.
  • Support for the disabled with benefits of 45 million euros and 225,000 beneficiaries. The aid is 200 euros.
  • Additional support for pensioners who have no personal difference or have minimal (less than 10 euros). These are main pensions under 700 euros and uninsured seniors. The aid is 150 euros and the cost is 158 million. The beneficiaries are 1.055 million. These pensioners will also get an increase of around 3% from January. For example, a pensioner with a main pension of 600 euros will get a 3% increase and a total of 216 euros per year. If the 150 euros are included, he will receive a total of 366 euros. Thus, the pension increase is essentially 5.1%.
