Posts of the Cadastro Único in at least three capitals registered long lines between Thursday (4) and Monday (8). Enrolling in or updating the database is one of the requirements for receiving Auxílio Brasil, a substitute for Bolsa Família.
The high demand has intensified since the end of October, when the government announced the end of Bolsa Família and intensified discussions on Auxílio Brasil, which was regulated by President Jair Bolsonaro (no party) on Monday.
In Recife, the long lines started on Friday (5), with hundreds of people in front of the unit located in the center of the city. People present reported that there was even sale of seats in the queues.
At the service point on Rua do Imperador, one of the main ones in the center of the capital of Pernambuco, 60 tickets are distributed per day. Entries ran out in about ten minutes on Friday.

In Bahia, people spent the night from Wednesday to Thursday in front of the stop in the Barroquinha neighborhood, in Salvador. Claiming a reduced number of tickets, people set up camps to get the first service spots the next morning.
To try to get around the inconvenience, the City of Salvador expanded from 200 to 1,200 the number of daily appointments from Monday to Friday.
The federal government’s idea is to follow the same payment schedule as Bolsa Família.
The Bolsonaro government wants to provide a benefit of at least R$400 by December 2022, the election year. For that, it needs the National Congress to approve the PEC do Calote, which has already received the approval of the Chamber of Deputies in the first round.
