Electricity and gas subsidy: Ministerial decisions in “Diavgeia”

by

Posted in “Clarity” the Ministerial decisions for subsidy of electricity and gas bills January – February, to cover part of the cost of increases due to the energy crisis.

According to the decisions and as already announced, the subsidies are as follows:

– For household consumers (main residence), with floating electricity supply tariffs, the subsidy in January is 160 euros per megawatt hour (MWh) for consumption from 0 to 150 kWh and 120 euros per megawatt hour for consumption from 151 kWh to 300 kWh while for the Social Household Tariff (CTO) and the Solidarity Services Invoice (concerning social care services) is set at 180 euros per megawatt hour.

Him February the subsidies respectively are 150 and 110 euros per Megawatt hour and 170 euros for the CTO.

It is noted that the subsidized consumption of 300 kwh is reduced to 30 days per month, ie it is 310 kWh for the months with 31 days and 280 kWh for February (28 days).

For example, for a household consumer and for a month with 31 days, the subsidy is set at 160 euros per MWh of electricity consumption for the first 155 kWh and 120 euros per MWh for monthly electricity consumption from 155 kWh to 310 kWh.

THE subsidy applies to electricity consumption bills, against or liquidation, which are issued within five days from the entry into force of the Decision. For this purpose, the supplier enters in the consumption account a relevant credit entry, marked “Energy Transition Fund Credit”.

Indicatively for a household consumer included in the Social Household Tariff for the first 310 kWh of the month of January, the subsidy is 310 kWh times 0.18 Euro / kWh = 55.8 Euro.

– For non-household electricity consumers (businesses) with floating tariffs, the subsidy for both January and February is 65 euros per megawatt hour, regardless of consumption limit. Again there is a separate indication “Energy Transfer Fund Credit” in the account, for example 1300 kWh times 0.065 Euro / kWh = 84.5 Euro.

– In natural gas, for household consumers, the subsidy for January and February is 20 euros per megawatt hour on total natural gas consumption and for non-household, 30 euros in January and 20 euros per megawatt hour in February. There is also a separate entry in the account, marked “Energy Transition Fund Credit”, indicatively 300 kWh x 0.03 Euro / kWh = 9 Euro.
