With the assessment that 2024 will also prove to be a very positive year for Greece, it has been concluded the participation of the EOT at the Tourism Fair “Destinations: The Holiday and Travel Show 2024” of London. The optimistic messages from the British market result from the unprecedented increase in bookings for our country in December and despite their slight decline in January, which was however expected after the Christmas holiday season.

The exhibition is organized annually by The Times and The Sunday Times newspapers and is the largest and longest running public exhibition of the British tourism market. This year’s event took place from February 1st to 4th with the presence of approximately 600 exhibitors, while more than 50,000 people visited it.

The UK & Ireland EOT Service took part in the co-advertising program with T.O Sunvil, which offers packages for 59 Greek destinations, while it also participated in the competition for T.O Explore Greece, which focuses on walking and cycling tourism. Also, during the exhibition, the well-known Greek-British radio producer, Alexis Conran, made extensive references to Greece in his show from the exhibition area and the new book of the popular author Victoria Hislop was presented, which extensively referred to our country. The show’s audience, aged 55-64 and with an annual individual spend on travel of £7,802, were looking for information on bookings they had already made, last minute deals and inspiration for their 2024 holiday. A large proportion were also booking straight away due to of the special offers of T.O, while he expressed a particular interest in holidays outside the summer season, slow tourism, holidays by train and outdoor activities.

The next exhibition “Destinations: The Holiday and Travel Show” will take place from January 30 to February 2, 2025.
