The total number of registered unemployed people in the register of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) in February 2024 reached 1,017,056 people, showing a decrease of 57,517 people (-5.4%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and a decrease of 22,419 people (-2.2%) compared to January 2024.

According to the DYPA registered unemployment statistics for February 2024, out of a total of 1,017,056 people, 489,529 people (percentage 48.1%) are registered in the DYPA register for a period equal to or longer than 12 months and 527,527 people (51.9%) are registered in the DYPA register for a period of less than 12 months.

Men amounted to 364,133 people (35.8% rate) and women amounted to 652,923 people (64.2% rate).

The 30-44 age group gathered the largest number of registrants among the age groups, amounting to 327,918 people (32.2% rate).

The educational level of secondary education, which includes post-secondary education, gathered the largest number of registered unemployed among educational levels, which amounted to 487,406 people (47.9%).

Among the regions of the country, the Region of Attica and the Region of Central Macedonia recorded the largest number of registered unemployed, which amounted to 305,874 people (percentage of 30.1%) and 189,667 persons (percentage of 18.6%) respectively.

The total number of subsidized unemployed, in February 2024, (refers to the number of beneficiaries paid within the corresponding month), amounted to 251,297 people, of which 136,460 (54.3%) are general unemployed and other categories of subsidized unemployed and 114,837 (45.7%) are seasonal tourist occupations.

The number of subsidized unemployed people, in February 2024, reached 251,297 people, showing an increase of 12,101 people (5.1%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and an increase of 39,309 people (18.5%) compared to in January 2024. Men amounted to 109,723 (percentage of 43.7%) and women to 141,574 (percentage of 56.3%).

Of the total number of subsidized unemployed, 118,448 (percentage 47.1%) are common, 2,702 (percentage 1.1%) are builders, 114,837 (percentage 45.7%) are seasonal tourist occupations, 14,336 (percentage 5.7%) are seasonal other (agricultural), 849 (0.3% rate) are educational and 125 (0.0% rate) are other.
