Despite the use of sirens by the police, the driver sped and ran red lights in order to evade arrest
They were arrested early morning hours today (20-3-2024) in Nea Smyrni, from emergency police officers, -2- minors, aged 16for – as the case may be – theft by complicity, recklessness, dangerous driving and contravention of the drug law.
In particular, patrolling police officers spotted the defendants in the Nea Smyrni area riding a two-wheeled motorcycle that had been reported stolen and called them in for a check.
Despite the use of sound signals made by the police, the motorcycle driver developed speed and violated red signals in order to escape arrest.
Afterwards, the defendants abandoned the motorcycle and moved on foot, but the police found them and stopped them.
It is noted that in the possession of one of the -2- defendants, a quantity of raw cannabis weighing -0.5- grams was found and confiscated.
Those arrested, with the case file against them from the Nea Smyrni Security Department, were taken to the competent Prosecutor.
