Over 110,000 businesses who have completed the process of interfacing their cash registers with the POS systems.
At the rates recorded in recent weeks – about 5,000 cash register interfaces with POS on a daily basis – the project is expected to be completed within schedules. It is noted that, in order to facilitate the implementation of the project, AADE has already started sending electronic messages to inform technicians and liable companies about the process. At the same time, it is recalled that AADE has put into operation a special platform for the submission by April 1 of the appointments of the installation technicians with the companies subject to interconnection, which should take place within April.
More than 180,000 applications for the 4th round of funding
In addition, it is noted that the applications submitted by the interested companies in the 4th round of funding to cover part of the cost of purchasing a POS and connecting to the cash register, amounted to 184,432. The applications are being processed in order to determine the final beneficiaries.
In more detail, the applications submitted in the context of the 4th cycle were structured as follows:
Category 1 – Supply of a new or replacement of an existing EFT/POS: 79,137
Category 3 -Receipt of electronic invoicing provider services & invoicing software: 18,777
Category 4-VAT & ADIME upgrade to interface with EFT/POS: 58,110
Category 5: Replacement of EAFDSSS, excluding catering businesses: 11,819
Category 6: Replacement of FIM (FTM or ADIME or EAFDSSS) catering businesses: 16,589
It is recalled that in the first 3 cycles, vouchers were approved in 290,975 businesses with the total financing amounting to 40.6 million euros, while the start of the 5th round of financing is also expected for those companies that did not join the previous rounds and are eligible for financing.
How the deadlines for the POS-cash register interface are shaped
It is recalled that the relevant deadlines for connecting the POS with the cash registers are as follows:
Until March 31, 2024 for those businesses that have not interconnected their systems to contact their authorized cash register installers to complete the process. This extension can be extended until 30 April 2024:
-for businesses that were unable to find an available appointment in March, but have a scheduled appointment with an installation technician in April. It is noted that the deadline for the declaration of appointments in the AADE Technical Support Services Register that must be implemented within April has been set for April 1, 2024. FIM installation and support technicians must register on the platform the scheduled appointments with the companies that are obliged to interface their cash systems with the POS. Businesses subject to interconnection will have to check the information on the platform and will have the possibility from tomorrow, March 23, to formulate possible disagreements with the registered data.
– for businesses that will declare to the POS Registry that they are going to replace their cash register system with one of the new all-in-one solutions available, which does not require additional interface actions. Already, two e-invoicing providers have been approved with such solutions and more are expected very soon.
In order to facilitate the process and the cooperation of companies and installation technicians, AADE has already sent mass informative e-mails:
To the installation technicians, in order to be informed about the process of declaring appointments with their customers for the month of April.
To the liaison officers in order to be informed about the way to declare the appointments by the technicians so that they know that they are not considered overdue.
To the liaison officers for whom an appointment has been registered by informing them.
It is clarified that all businesses that fall under the 35 retail sectors that are required to install a POS, as long as the order was made by February 29, have the possibility to install it within March. They should then proceed to interface the POS with the cash register within the timetables mentioned above and which concern all businesses.
Especially businesses that use a cash register with a software system (ERP) and must follow the basic interconnection rule of A.1155/2023 for their POS, are reminded that they already have a deadline of May 31, 2024.
Along with the new interconnection schedule, the deadline for withdrawing the tax mechanisms (EAFDSS) from the companies that use them is extended until April 30, 2024.
Finally, it is clarified that the cash registers of businesses that are closed for any reason (e.g. seasonality) and will be opened after the end of the above schedule should be connected to the POS terminals they have from the first day of business resumption .
