A Financial Times report said Washington had asked Kiev to stop these attacks, warning of the risk of rising oil prices.
Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Olya Stefanyshina said today that Russian oil refineries are legitimate targets for Ukrainian forces, following a report that the United States had asked Kiev to stop drone attacks on the facilities.
Ukraine has escalated its attacks on Russian energy infrastructure in recent weeks, using a number of long-range drones to hit Russian refineries, temporarily halting production at some of them.
“We understand the pleas of our partners, the US, but at the same time we are fighting with our capabilities, resources and practices“, is Olya Stefanishina at the Kyiv Security Forum and added that energy infrastructures are legitimate targets at the military level.
According to a Financial Times report, Washington asked Kiev to stop these attacks, warning of the risk of rising oil prices.
Oil prices have risen 4% so far since March 12, when Ukraine hit a major Russian oil refinery.
