The Ministry of Labor and Social Security decided as the full implementation of the Digital Job Card in the businesses that fall under the branches of industry and retail trade to start on July 1, 2024.

This decisionpublished in the Government Gazette, taken keeping in mind the market demands from the industrial and retail sectors. They now have the necessary time to adapt to the requirements of this complex and multi-level project and to take the necessary actions to synchronize with the new Ergani II information system that will operate from July 1.

The application of the Digital Work Card in the specific sectors is inextricably linked to the operation of the TOOL IIto fully guarantee the rights of workers as it will also be possible to register in the system any changes to hours and overtime.

The Minister of Labor and Social Security, Domna Michailidou, stated: “the extension to the start time of the imposition of sanctions on industry and retail trade was taken in order for the businesses of these branches to synchronize with the implementation of TOOL II. The progress of the application of the Digital Work Card, in the sectors where it is applied, is very important. Already more than 3,500 workers, from 250 companies, because they were identified by the electronic control of the Digital Labor Card, have been paid their accrued wages.”
