The specifications of the new energy upgrade program of public buildings “Electra” announced the Ministry of Environment and Energy.
The program will start immediately with the start of the Guide’s public consultation.
The total budget of the program is EUR 640 millionwhich together with leverage will mobilize funds up to 1 billion euros.
The € 470 million will come from an investment loan from the European Investment Bank and the remaining € 170 million from the Recovery and Sustainability Fund.
The program may include, but is not limited to, schools, universities, hospitals, health centers, nursing homes, offices, indoor sports facilities, and museums and theaters.
The interventions for the improvement of the energy efficiency of the buildings concern the replacement of frames, thermal insulation, heating, cooling and ventilation systems, space lighting systems, automation systems, electricity generation and storage systems, installation of charging points for electric vehicles, etc.
The buildings that will be energy upgraded under “ELECTRA”, are expected to improve their energy class by two categories on average, according to the Energy Efficiency Regulation of Buildings.
