Mr. Papalexopoulos and the President of the Executive Committee of SEV, Mr. Efthimios Vidalis, announced their intention not to seek a third consecutive term at the helm of the Association
At the meeting of the Board of Directors of SEV today, April 22, the Chairman of the Board of Directors. of BSE, Mr. Dimitris Papalexopoulos and the President of the Executive Committee of the BSE, Mr. Efthymios Vidalis, announced their intention not to seek a third consecutive term at the helm of the Association.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors Mr. Dimitris Papalexopoulos stated the following:
“I want to believe that we are handing over BSE having made a substantial contribution to further improving its effectiveness, continuing the work and commitment of previous Presidents to its continuous renewal and evolution.
In a period where most of the constants of the global economy and society were being tested, we talked responsibly with the State, strengthened the Association’s presence in Greece and the EU, contributed with well-worked proposals for reforms, while at the same time helping to deal with serious social issues, such as the health crisis and the floods in Thessaly, highlighting entrepreneurship as part of the solution to the country’s complex issues.
We have placed at the core of our actions the digital revolution, innovation, industrial development and green transition, equality and inclusion, corporate responsibility and sustainable development, strengthening skills but also connecting education with the labor market. At the same time, we focused on modern labor relations, business extroversion and regional development, investment mobilization, simplification of the business and tax environment, better infrastructures, better functioning of competition, significantly strengthening the support services provided to our members. Finally, we expanded the pool of our members, now including several start-ups, while the reflexes of the Association were strengthened thanks to the professionalism of our executives, but also of the working groups guided by the members of the Board of Directors.
The challenges of the next period undoubtedly remain great and our Association is invited to continue supporting its members, utilizing the accumulated experience, the ability to represent different sectors and company sizes, but also the courage for new actions. Based on values that characterize its way of functioning over time, such as consultation and the synthesis of opinions, SEB needs to continue to intervene with all its forces united and with collective aspirations far above personal ones”.
