by

The consultation of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs started yesterday with representatives of the sectors from which its implementation will begin digital work card.

Specifically, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the General Secretary of Labor Relations, Anna Stratinaki, who coordinates the project, had a meeting with executives of the National Bank and Piraeus Bank.

The meetings will continue with executives of the other banks in the coming days and will follow contacts with representatives of supermarkets.

It is recalled that the plan of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs envisages the pilot implementation of the digital work card in banks and supermarkets in June, “as these sectors have long experience in digital systems of organization and management of staff”. The measure will then be gradually extended to all other sectors (large and small enterprises).

As stated in the announcement, “the aim of the consultation is to proceed safely and within the schedule the creation of the necessary infrastructure for the digital work card, in consultation with the stakeholders.

Through the digital work card, the employment of the employees (real time, overtime, etc.) will be recorded in real time, which is a guarantee for the observance of the schedule and for the suppression of the undeclared and declared work.

“This is a key reform, funded by the Recovery Fund, and will prevent delinquency in the labor market, while imposing a level playing field between companies.”
