The Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kostis Hatzidakis, met today in Athens with the Federal Chancellor for Economic Affairs, Education and Research of Switzerland, Guy Parmelin.

At the meeting, the economic relations of the two countries were discussed and the opportunities for investment that – as both sides found – the Greek economy offers today. Mr. Hatzidakis referred in particular to the framework that applies to the promotion of strategic investments, the financing possibilities from the Recovery Fund and the field of activity that is being developed in the field of the green economy and decarbonization.

The two ministers also discussed issues concerning Swiss businesses, such as pharmaceutical companies that are already active in our country.

At the meeting, Switzerland’s relations with the European Union were reviewed and Mr. Parmelin emphasized his country’s interest in participating in the Horizon and Erasmus+ programs.

Messrs. Hatzidakis and Parmelin finally agreed to designate a point of contact for all matters concerning the relations between the two ministries, the office of the general secretary of Economic Policy and Strategy, George Christopoulos.
