A 77.8% increase in construction activity in Greece in February compared to the corresponding month of 2023
The indicators of construction activity soared in February 2024 compared to the corresponding month last year, according to ELSTAT data.
For private buildings in the month of February 2024, 2,722 building permits were issued, while for public buildings 22 permits were issued.
In the two months of January – February 2024, the total construction activity shows, throughout the country,
43.7% increase in the number of building permits, a 41.3% increase in surface area and a 37.2% increase in
volume, in relation to the corresponding two months of the year 2023.
During the same period, Private Construction Activity, throughout the country, shows a 44.4% increase in the number of building permits, a 42.7% increase in surface area and a 38.6% increase in volume, compared to the period January – February 2023
During the period of the last twelve months, i.e. from March 2023 to February 2024, the size
of the Total Construction Activity (Private-Public) based on the issued building permits, in total
of the Country, amounted to 28,442 building permits.
In relation to the corresponding period March 2022 – February 2023 an increase of 12.8% was observed in the number
of building permits, a 17.7% increase in surface area and a 20.5% increase in volume
