Deposits increased, but decreased loans granted by the banks in April.

More specifically, the deposits of households and private non-profit institutions showed an increase of 348 million euros in April 2024, compared to an increase of 400 million euros in the previous month, while the annual rate of change decreased to 2.3% from 2, 9% last month.

In more detail, the monthly net flow of financing to businesses in April 2024 was negative by €730 million, compared to a positive net flow of €1,917 million in the previous month, and the annual rate of change decreased to 7.8% from 8 .0% last month. In particular, the annual rate of change in financing of non-financial corporations (NFCs) increased to 6.9% from 6.6% in the previous month.

Their monthly net funding flow was negative by €298 million, compared to a positive net flow of €1,617 million in the previous month.
